Rookie Matt Forte Out For Week 2
Total Pro Sports – Matt Forte was a monster performer last week against the Indianapolis Colts. He ran over the Colts for 123 yards and 1 TD, and also had a 50 yard run.
A top ranked defense last year in Indy, it sure did not look like that last week. Matt alone made them look like a high school team. We cant forget to mention All Star or soon to be All Star Kyle Orton, he picked apart the Colts defense like it was something he did on a regular basis. Well soon see if Orton can continue this greatness week 2.
So be sure to keep an eye on the headlines before Sunday, but as of now Matt Forte will be sidelined with an ankle injury. This kid is going to be something special, give him as much time as he needs to heal.
Running back Matt Forte was limited in practice Friday with ankle tightness but coach Lovie Smith said there was no chance of him missing Sunday’s game at Carolina.
“He’s limited [Friday],” Smith said, adding that the same approach was taken with cornerback Nathan Vasher, who was held out of parts of practice on Wednesday with a sore shoulder.
“Sunday I think we’ll have all our guys ready to go.”
Forte downplayed any problem beyond simple soreness.
“I’m fine,” he said. “You get bumps and bruises and you’ve got to take care of them.”
