Darren McFadden Injured: Turf Toe
Total Pro Sports – Darren McFadden left Sunday’s game against the lowly Kansas City Chiefs in the 4Th quarter with a turf toe injury. The Oakland Raiders routed the Chiefs in a big division match up 23 – 8.
Darren McFadden had a monster game in his second career game as a pro, he ran for 164 yards in 22 attempts and 1 touchdown. His longest run went for 50 yards just after Justin Fargas went down with a groin injury. This is unfortunate for Fargas but great news for McFadden as he is now the featured back and will receiveall touches. Hopefully this turf toe injury to Darren will not keep him sidelined long.
If their was any thought that Darren McFadden was going to be a bust at the 4th pick last year in the draft, he sure did show what he is capable of this past Sunday.
Raiders coach Lane Kiffin finally got his way, which is a notable exception to the Al Davis rule as of late.
His three-headed rushing offense flourished with 300 yards behind a dominant offensive line. Special teams made play after spectacular play. The defense blitzed like he always wanted it to and stuffed the run like rarely before.
Just like that, the Raiders rolled Kansas City 23-8 at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday, taking in their first victory in six tries since Dec. 2.
The question now is this: Was it enough to save Kiffin’s job, if only for one more week? According to multiple team officials, there’s a 50-50 chance owner Al Davis could fire Kiffin as soon as today, a notion that went unrefuted by a team spokesman.
