Fantasy Football Wavier Wire Week 8

Marc BulgerTotal Pro Sports -  By now you are either in three different spots in your respective fantasy football leagues. You might be at the top, a virtual lock for a playoff spot. You could be in the middle, maybe a game out of the playoffs. Or you could be at the bottom and already starting your draft plan for next summer. No matter which one you are here is some pick ups to help you stay on top, reach the playoffs, or just play spoiler.

Lets take a look at this weeks Fantasy Football Wavier Wire.

QB – Marc Bulger , STL – How the mighty have fallen. Bulger could be available in your fantasy football league and if so, he’s worth a look for this week’s byes. His new found friend, Donnie Avery, will allow Bulger to stretch the field. Look for Bulger to have 200 yards and 2 touchdowns this week against a Patriot defense that is known to give up big plays.

RB – Jamaal Charles, KC -  The rookie out of Texas had only three carries for 17 yards helping fill the shoes of Larry Johnson during his suspension, yet had 4 catches for 26 yards. With Johnson suspended again for this week‘s match-up against the chiefs, a possibly even longer, Charles should get his fair of touches. While Kolby Smith is slated as the started, Charles will see more work in the passing game and we all know that Kansas City will be playing catch up.

RB – Cedric Benson, CIN - It looks like he’s the starter for the Bengals. Benson had 14 carries for 52 yards, while Chris Perry had 11 carries for 14 yards. I wouldn’t expect too much from Benson, since the Bengals offense has lost their bite, but he has a decent match up with the Texans this weeks.

WR – Donnie Avery, STL – Avery has emerged as Bulger’s favorite target over the past two weeks. Over that span the rookie wide out has totaled nine receptions for 138 yards and a touchdown. His schedule is favorable, especially during the traditional fantasy football playoff weeks where he’ll face off against Arizona, Seattle and San Francisco.

WR – Josh Morgan, SF – Here is another rookie worth a look. Morgan had five catches for 86 yards an a touchdown in a loss against the Giants. The Virginia Tech product impressed during the preseason and might be finally ready to break out. It doesn’t hurt either that he plays for Mike Martz.

TE – Billy Miller, NO – If you desperately need a tight end, and I mean desperately, here is someone you can grab for this week. Jeremy Shockey did not practice Wednesday and might be out for week 8. Miller has 50 yards over the past three weeks. Hey it is better than nothing.

K – Shaun Suisham, WSH – He should have a nice week against the Lions. Expect at least 10 points and he should be available in most fantasy football leagues.

DEF – Oakland – Last week this squad caused three turnovers and racked up three sacks against the Jets. This week they face Joe Flacco and the Ravens. Flacco is averaging over a turnover per game. The Raiders match up alone will be worth a spot start on your fantasy football roster.
