UFC 91 Preview
Total Pro Sports – Well UFC 90 turned out to be a big disappointment, especially the final bout between Silva and Cote. But never fear because UFC 91 is here! Okay, sorry for the corny/cheesy line but this weekend’s PPV looks to be a very good one. In fact Dana White has come out and said that it will be UFC’s biggest PPV of all-time. Like before I’ll just be previewing three of the scheduled matches. For all of the fights and multimedia on UFC 91 you can check out 91.ufc.com.
Lets take a look at our UFC 91 Preview.
Gabriel “Napao” Gonzaga (9-3-0) vs Josh Hendricks (18-4-0)
Although I knew immediately who I think will win this bout, it’s still fairly evenly matched. Hendricks likes to use his Wrestling and Jiu-Jitsu abilities to beat his opponents while Gonzaga is more of a Striker but uses Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as well and can be effective on the ground as well when it comes to Submissions. Despite their records, Gonzaga actually has more experience when it comes to fighting in MMA as he started out in 1994 and Hendricks didn’t start until 2002. With his years of experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and his striking ability, I say Gabriel “Napao” Gonzaga defeats Josh Hendricks by TKO in Round 2.
Kenny “Kenflo” Florian (12-3-0) vs Joe “Daddy” Stevenson (34-8-0)
This is definitely the hardest fight for me to pick a winner in as I’m a fan of both fighters. Stevenson is another Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu figher who has excellent takedown and submission skills. Florian is the exact same but has some decent striking ability as well. Joe is more experienced when it comes to MMA bouts but is actually 4 years younger than Florian. As I said before, I really hate to try and pick a winner in this fight as I think it will be amazing, but after seeing Florian in his last fight against Huerta I’m leaning towards him. I will reluctantly say Kenny “Kenflo” Florian defeats Joe “Daddy” Stevenson by TKO in Round 3.

Now, I’m the first one to say that my man love for Randy Couture does cloud my judgment when it comes to this fight, but I’ll try my best to push it aside. Couture uses his great wrestling ability to wear his opponents down. He’s also one of the best, if not the best, when it comes to training and preparing for a fight. Lesnar also has great wrestling ability and uses his size, strength and athleticism to overpower his opponents. The most intriguing thing I find about this fight is that Couture hasn’t faught anyone with the strength and ability of a Brock Lesnar and Lesnar hasn’t faught anyone with the smarts and ability of a Randy Couture. In the end my man love for Randy can’t be denied and I think he’ll be able to wear down and out smart Brock. I say Randy “The Natural” Couture defeats Brock Lesnar by Decision.
You can check out UFC 91: Couture vs Lesnar this Saturday at 10pm on Pay Per View by either purchasing it through your local cable or satellite provider or by simply heading out to your local sports pub.
