College Football Power Rankings Week 12

Total Pro Sports – The Crimson Tide are rulers of the nation and No. 1in our College Football Power Rankings, after controlling much of the second half with their bruising ground attack.

The Florida Gators have blown out their sixth consecutive opponent, this week they handed their former coach Steve Spurrier his worst loss ever, smashing the Gamecocks 56-6. The Gators are waiting for one of the top 2 teams to stumble which would open the door for them to sneak into the Orange Bowl.

There is a dandy of a game next week when the Texas Tech Red Raiders travel to Norman to take on the Oklahoma Sooners. That game has huge implications on what the National Championship setup will look like. Both teams feature high scoring offenses, Heisman candidates at the quarterback position, play-making wide receivers and the ability to entertain the fans like no other teams can.

College Football Power Rankings Movers And Shakers

Green ArrowOur biggest movers this week in our College FOOTBALL Power Rankings, were the Oregon State Beavers moving into to our power rankings this week. The Beavers moved up 6 spots to number #19 this week after beating California.

The LSU Tigers and the Cincinnati Bearcats are second biggest mover this week, moving up 4 spots.

The LSU Tigers moved up to #20 from last weeks ranking of #20.  The Tigers came back from being down 28 points to Troy.  The Tigers can’t wait for the season to end.

The Cincinnati Bearcats moved to #16 this week and now sit atop the Big East.

Red ArrowOur biggest shakers this week in our college Football Power Rankings for week 12 were the North Carolina Tar Heals.  The Tar Heals lost 8 spots from #17 to #25 after losing to the Maryland Terrapins.

11-0 - The Bulldogs kept the Tide close early but Alabama picked up momentum with some good special teams play and rolled to a 32-7 victory. Up Next: Auburn Tigers

3 Florida Gators 9-1 - They left their former coach and his team licking their wounds with a beginning to end of game domination this weekend. Everyone expected this game to be a little closer than 56-6, but the Gators continue to hunt down a National Championship berth. Up Next: The Citadel Bulldogs

Texas Longhorns

10-1 Green Arrow1 The Longhorns are yet another Big 12 South team to hand the Jayhawks a lopsided loss. The Longhorns are still in a hunt for a Big 12 South Title and need to continue to impress as their bowl game may be decided by the BCS rating system. Up Next: Texas A&M Aggies

Oklahoma Sooners

9-1 Red Arrow1 Bye Week. Up Next: Texas Tech Red Raiders


9-1 - The first half resembled last years upset to the same Cardinals team, but the Trojans must of got an earful at half time from Carroll. The Trojans outscored Stanford 28-6 in the second half to avoid the upset. Up Next: Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Penn State Lions

10-1 -

The Nittany Lions seem to have fallen out of favor with the people that jumped on the band wagon. They seem to have lost their steam, but this team still only has one loss to its name. Up Next: Michigan State Spartans

8 Utah Utes 11-0 - The Utes are ready to make one of these teams very unhappy, with their dream season still up in the air, the Utes have one more stiff challenge ahead, in the final game of the season they take on the BYU Cougars. Next: BYU Cougars
9 Bosie State Broncos 10-0 - It seems to me that the Broncos are in this position year after year, however, they will never be placed in a National Championship game because their conference is not recognized by many. The Broncos need to play more out of conference games against BCS programs in order to solidify themselves as true contenders. Up Next: Nevada Wolf Pack

Missouri Tigers

9-2 - We know Missouri can score points against any team in the country, it’s keeping the opponent off the score sheet that has been the problem all season. Up Next: Kansas Jayhawks

Ohio State Buckeyes

9-2 - The Buckeyes made a lot of big plays this week to avenge the upset loss the Illini handed them last year on their way to a Rose Bowl. The Buckeyes are still alive in their hunt for a Big 10 title. Up Next: Michigan Wolverines


10-1 -

The Cougars beat a good Falcon team this week thanks to the special arm of Max Hall. The Cougars need a victory next week in order to win a share of the Mountain West title. Up Next: Utah Utes


Oklahoma State

10-2 Green Arrow2 Zac Robinson returns to Colorado to break the hearts of his former fans. 4 years removed from a scholarship with the Buffaloes Robinson leads the Cowboys past Colorado. Up Next: Oklahoma Sooners
14 Georgia Bulldogs 9-2 - The Bulldogs stumbled against the disappointing Tigers this week but managed to hold on and win. Knowshon Moreno had another great game and the Bulldogs rallied past the Tigers. The Bulldogs must be getting tired of these consistent scares. Up Next: Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Michigan State Spartans

8-2 Red Arrow2 Bye Week. Up Next: Penn State Nittany Lions
16 Cincinnati 8-2 Green Arrow4 Yet another statement win for the Bearcats this week as they defeat the Cardinals on the road. The Bearcats now sit atop the Big East and hold the destiny of that conference in their hands. Up Next: Pittsburgh Panthers
17 Ball State

10-0 Green Arrow1 They are the only team in the state of Indiana that is getting any respect this season, so what does the future hold for the Cardinal? Well, it is unlikely they will be playing in a BCS Bowl game, but they do deserve a respectable Bowl game opportunity. Up Next: Central Michigan Chippewas


9-2 Red Arrow2 Bye Week. Up Next: Air Force Falcons
19 Oregon State Beavers 7-3 NR We have kept the Beavers out of the Top 25 Power Rankings for the majority of the season, however, they have now earned their stripes. Since losing their opening 2 games of the season the Beavers have rolled off wins in 7 of 8 contests including victories against USC and California. Next Up: Arizona Wildcats

LSU Tigers

7-3 Green Arrow4 Not an impressive showing this week for the Tigers at home, they needed a 28 point comeback to avoid losing to the Troy Trojans. The Tigers have not shown any consistency this season and it was evident for the first three quarters of this weeks game. Up Next: Mississippi Rebels
21 Western Michigan Broncos 9-2 Green Arrow2 They were able to handle Toledo this week, but must play a lot better in their next game against unbeaten Ball State. Up Next: Ball State Cardinal
22 Oregon Ducks 8-3 NR Jeremiah Masoli has done an effective job replacing Oregon’s top 2 quarterbacks. He has the Ducks in the top 5 in rushing offense and top 10 in total scoring. Up Next: Oregon State Beavers
23 Pittsburgh Panthers 7-2 Red Arrow1 Bye Week. Up Next: Cincinnati Bearcats
24 Maryland Terrapins 7-3 NR The ACC seems to have a new leader each week, these teams are beating up on each other, and for this reason they have no representation in our top 20. The team that seemed to have control of the conference was beaten be the Terrapins this week. Up Next: Florida State Seminoles

North Carolina

7-3 Red Arrow8 The ACC is up for grabs after the Tar Heels let one slip away this week. With just 2 games remaining the Tar Heels must win out to ensure themselves a share of the ACC title. Up Next: North Carolina State WolfPack
