Kiffin Agrees To A Deal With The Vols

Lane KiffinTotal Pro Sports - Recently fired Oakland Raiders head coach Lane Kiffin has agreed to a tentative deal with the Tennessee Volunteers.  The Knoxville News Sentinel first reported this deal.  An announcement from the Vols is supposedly in the works for some time next week.

Lane Kiffin takes over for former Vols coach Phillip Fulmer who had coached the team for the past 17 seasons.  Phillip Fulmer lead the Vols to a  a 151-52 record as coach and a National Championship Title in 1998, but has since but together 2 losing seasons in the past 5 years.  Fulmer who recently signed a new contract with the Tennessee Volunteers this past summer, will be bought out for an estimated $6 million.

Lane Kiffin Football Career

  • Quarterbacks coach at Fresno State.
  • 2 seasons as an Offensive Line Coach at Colorado State.
  • 7 seasons at Southern California as assistant head coach, recruiting and offensive coordinator.
  • Head Coach Oakland Raiders

The terms of Lane Kiffins contract have yet to be released, but we'll just have to wait and see if he can serve a longer term then the one with the Oakland Raiders.
