Green ArrowThe biggest Movers in our NHL Power Rankings this week were the Anaheim Ducks climbing up 4 spots to remain in the top 10 at #6.

Lets take a look at the rest of the league: NHL POWER RANKINGS for Week 8.

Rank Team Record Previous Comment
San Jose Sharks 20-3-1 - With the way things are going they might break the NHL record for most points in a season.
Boston Bruins 16-4-4 Green Arrow1 Scored an impressive win over the Red Wings on Saturday night. They only have two games this coming week against the Lightning and Panthers so expect to see them in the #2 spot again next week.
New York Rangers 17-8-2 Green Arrow1 The two major acquisitions from the off season, Zherdev and Naslund, continue to lead the team with a combined 43 points in 27 games.
Detroit Red Wings 15-4-4 Red Arrow2 Had a rough week but their big 3 are all producing so they should be able to turn things around quickly.
Pittsburgh Penguins 14-6-3 Green Arrow1 Can anyone stop Crosby and Malkin? They’ve already combined for 73 points in just 23 games.
Anaheim Ducks 14-8-3 Green Arrow4 Won all three of their games thanks to some solid goaltending from Jonas Hiller.
Vancouver Canucks 14-8-2 Red Arrow2 Nice overtime win over the Red Wings but suffered back-to-back losses to the Flames. The Sedin twins are tied for the team lead in points with 23.
Montreal Canadiens 13-6-4 Red Arrow1 Decent week going 2-1-1. Koivu has managed to pass Tanguay and now leads the team with 19 points.
Minnesota Wild 14-7-1 Green Arrow3 Had a much needed 3-1-0 week beating the Capitals, Lightning and Predators.
Washington Capitals 13-8-3 Red Arrow1 Despite the slow start their big 3 are producing nicely with a combined 78 points in 24 games.
Calgary Flames 14-9-1 Green Arrow3 Perfect week going 3-0 beating the Kings and Canucks in back-to-back games.
New Jersey Devils 12-8-2 Green Arrow1 Not their best of weeks beating the Panthers but losing to the Penguins.
Philadelphia Flyers 11-7-5 Green Arrow2 An alright week for Philly going 2-1-1. Gagne leads the team with 31 points.
Chicago Blackhawks 10-6-6 Red Arrow6 Disappointing week losing all three of their games to the Sharks, Ducks and Kings.
Carolina Hurricanes 12-11-2 Red Arrow4 Lost three of their four games. Staal needs to get going if this team wants to contend in the East.
Buffalo Sabres 11-9-3 Green Arrow2 Beat the Bruins and Penguins but lost a close one to the Canadiens on Saturday night. Vanek keeps rolling and now has 18 goals on the season.
Nashville Predators 11-10-2 - Not the best of weeks going 1-1-1 while getting stone walled by former teammate Chris Mason in their loss to the Blues.
Columbus Blue Jackets 10-10-3 Red Arrow2 Their lack of scoring depth cost them their first two games but were able to get a win against Washington thanks to Steve Mason.
Los Angeles Kings 10-9-3 Green Arrow2 Rough start losing to the Flames 6-2 but rebounded nicely and beat both the Oilers and Blackhawks.
St. Louis Blues 10-10-2 Green Arrow2 Not a bad week for the Blues going 2-2 beating the Predators and Thrashers.
Edmonton Oilers 10-11-2 Red Arrow2 Another disappointing week for the Oilers going 1-2 losing to the Kings and Stars.
Toronto Maple Leafs 8-9-6 Red Arrow2 Not a great week going 1-1-1 but with Burke coming on board things look bright for the future.
Colorado Avalanche 11-12-0 - Okay week going 2-2. Stastny still leads the team with 20 points.
Phoenix Coyotes 10-11-2 - So far Bryzgalov has had a disappointing season. He’ll need to step up if they want to contend for a playoff spot in the West.
New York Islanders 10-12-2 - Had a better month of November going 8-6-1 putting them out of the basement…for now.
Ottawa Senators 8-10-4 - Only two games last week beating the Leafs and losing to the Islanders. They’ll need to get better goaltending or upgrade it via a trade if they want to have a better December.
Florida Panthers 9-11-3 Green Arrow3 Good week for the Panthers collecting 6 out of a possible 8 points. Craig Anderson looks to be battling Vokoun for the #1 spot after stringing some solid starts together.
Dallas Stars 8-11-4 Green Arrow1 Not a great week for the Stars but it’s a start. Richards has been playing better as of late and leads the team with 21 points.
Atlanta Thrashers 8-12-3 Red Arrow1 Promising start beating the Leafs but then lost their next three games to the Capitals, Predators and Blues.
Tampa Bay Lightning 6-10-7 Red Arrow3 There’s no sugar coating this one, they Lightning had a terrible week losing all three of their games to the Rangers, Wild and Avalanche.
