Total Pro Sports – The Boston Celtics are on fire and have won their last 18 straight games.  This week they again hold the #1 spot in this weeks NBA Power Rankings.

Will the Boston Celtics ever lose a game again this year?  We don’t think so!

The Celtics win 18 in a row and the Toronto Raptors are trying to figure out how to win 1 game.  They started on fire this season but have since cooled down.  The Raptors just keep on falling in the NBA power rankings dropping to the 27th spot this week.  It seems as if the Raptors fans are booing Chris Bosh out of town, if they don’t start winning expect some major changes to the team.

NBA Power Rankings Movers And Shakers

Our biggest movers this week in our NBA Power Rankings, were the Milwaukee Bucks moving up 6 spots in the power rankings, moving from #22 to #16.

The Indiana Pacers moved up 5 spots in the rankings from #27 to #22.

Our biggest shakers this week in our NBA Power Rankings for week 8 were the Toronto Raptors losing 7 spots in the NBA Power Rankings.  The Raptors dropped from #20 to #27 this week.

The Memphis Grizzlies dropped from 6 spots from #17 to #23 in this weeks power rankings

1		26-2	-	There winning streak now stands at 18 games, which is a Celtic Record. For them to finish with at least 70 wins they now have to go 44-10 which is looking more and more possible with every win. A bit of a scare Sunday, Glen Davis was in a car accident on the way to the game against the Knicks, he suffered whiplash and a concussion, no word on how long he will be out.
2		23-4	-	They’ve won 3 straight after their long winning streak was ended. Lebron James stated this week that he might re-sign with the Cavs this upcoming summer instead of becoming a free agent in 2010… I don’t buy it for a second.
3		21-5	-	They are now on a 2 game losing streak, which is nothing to be too worried about, but Magic Johnson, a minority owner of the Lakers, stated the Lakers are still not tough enough for another encounter with the Celtics. I have to agree with Magic.
4		21-6	-	They’ve won 4 in a row and I truly think that this group of 3 which consists of the Lakers, Cavs and Celtics will soon include the Magic and Hornets. The Magic did take care of the Lakers this week, which I think puts them in this elite group.
5		16-7	1	Finally it looks like the Hornets are making their push and starting to gel. They have one 4 in a row, and 8-2 in their last 10. They have a huge week this week, with games against the Lakers, Magic and Rockets. If they are for real, they have to win at least two of three this week.
6		18-9	3	They also have a hard week this week taking on the Cavs and the magic. The team is healthy at the moment and could be getting some size on the bench in the form of Dikembe Mutombo, who is supposedly choosing between the Rockets and the Celtics, but leaning towards the Rockets.
7		17-10	4	The Trailblazers are looking good, Brandon Roy had his first 50 point plus game this week, and is a true superstar. Wouldn’t it be intriguing to see the Blazers take on the Lakers in the first or second round of the playoffs; they could really give them a run for their money.
8		17-10	4	Once again they played the Celtics tough this week, something they do better than any team in the Association. Ludacris performed during halftime this week, which actually put butts in the seats. I wonder when Nelly is going to perform for the Bobcats at halftime. Something that would still surely keep people at home in Charlotte. Air Force this buddy.
9		16-10	2	Raptor fans you won’t believe this but starting center for the Spurs is none only than Matt “Red Rocket” Bonner, who is doing a great job manning the 1. He’s still shooting over 50% from long range and has stated that he is trying to get is Canadian Citizenship, his grandfather is from Newfoundland, so he can play for Canada. Could this guy become more of a fan favorite in Toronto?
10		17-10	5	They have hit a bit of a rough patch with 3 straight losses, they did have a tough week with losses to the Rockets, Cavs and Suns, so you can’t totally blame them.
11		14-12	3	Playing well and looking a lot better than last year. Teams are shying away from trading for Shawn Marion thinking they can get him for cheaper than his price tag is this summer. His salary demands will definitely be going down this summer with his lackluster play.
12		16-11	4	Suns played well this week; they took out the Denver Nuggets and the New York Knicks this week. Steve Nash had a real solid game against Denver where he showed the guy he was a couple years ago when he was league MVP, but he’s still looking old.
13		15-11	5	They have been playing well, going 7-3 in their last 10. Grant Hill has made it known that he wouldn’t mind being traded back home to Orlando for the stretch run. Could we see a JJ Redick for Hill swap? We shall see.
14		17-12	4	Owner Larry Miller blasted Carlos Boozer on a Radio show for discussing his upcoming opt-out clause. I don’t blame Miller for being mad, especially when you’re paying these athletes so much money and the fact that the Jazz do have the chance to upset a team or two in the playoffs. But I would suggest Miller choose to raise his blood pressure in anger over Boozer when he’s not sitting in an hospital bed, which he was when he was interviewed by the radio show.
15		14-11	2	Going to the Pistons website, one is welcomed with Christmas music. I guess there trying to put a positive spin on what’s going on with Detroit and the current automotive economy. If the Red Wings attendance is struggling one has to think the Pistons attendance isn’t far behind.
16		13-16	6	They’ve won 2 in a row and 6 of their last 10, which is somewhat of an accomplishment. They have the talent there; it’s just about putting it all together. I could see them going on a little run.
17		13-13	2	the showdown between Devin Harris and Jason Kidd wasn’t even close. Devin Harris dominated so much that the crowd in Jersey started chanting “Thank You Cuban” in reference to Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, who was reportedly behind the swap. Harris had 41 points and 13 assists, Kidd had 17 and 7.
18		13-14	-	Up and down week for the Bulls. They lost to the Bobcats and then beat the Jazz. They have a tough week against the Pistons, Heat and Hawks coming up.
19		12-15	2	They fired Maurice Cheeks this past week because they simply couldn’t put it all together. Now they have lost Elton Brand to a Shoulder injury for a month. Remember in the Pre season when we were talking about them being top contenders in the East?
20		11-16	1	They Recently played in Los Angeles where former teammate Stephan Marbury bought his own court side ticket to the game. He spent the entire time at the game texting and calling friends. He certainly has no friends on the Knicks roster as not one of them came to say hello to him.
21		8-19	2	They are starting to slowly turn it around, simply too much talent on this team to be in the basement. Definitely a team that if they were in the East would make the playoffs; at least I think they would.
22		10-17	5	Not much good to say here, 3-7 in their last 10, but they did go 3-1 this week, losing only to the Clippers in a close game. They have two winnable games this week against the Grizzlies and Nets.
23		9-17	6	5-5 in the last 10, and slowed down a bit after winning 4 in a row, probably won’t see that again this year. OJ Mayo still looking great so far, Darko is counting down the days until he can return to the safe haven of European Basketball next year.
24		9-19	4	They are a team sports bettors hate because they always play teams tough and usually hold games close, killing point spreads. DJ Augustin is getting himself into Rookie of the year talk with his great play so far, even getting playing time with Larry Brown at the helm.
25		8-20	-	Jamal Crawford scored 50 points in a win against Bobcats, you think he likes playing for Nellie. It is his 3rd 50 point plus game of his career, why can’t Crawford put it together for more than a few games.
26		7-21	2	as suggested would happen Reggie Theus has been fired, possibly sent back to Deering Park to play coach again on Hang Time, man I miss Saturday mornings as a pre-teen. Maybe he could play a new Mr. Belding on Save by the Bell who also coaches the Basketball team…. and Wrestling team, don’t you worry A.C Slater.
27		10-17	7	They hit a new low this week, losing to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Not only that they lost to the Mavs at home, getting booed off the court, which didn’t make Chris Bosh too happy. He’s regressed from his early season form, so has the team in general, there 7-17 since they started 3-0 this season. The Raptors truly have hit ROCK BOTTOM.
28		4-21	4	They have lost 6 in a row and only one win in their last 10, nothing good to talk about here.
29		3-25	1	One wins in their last 10. Only good thing to say here is they won at home, beating the Raptors. They celebrated like they won a championship, with streamers coming from the roof. Other than that, they still suck.
30		4-22	1	They have lost 12 in a row, Kevin Mchale is still looking for his first win as coach and he will be looking long and hard for wins with this roster.
