The NFL needs to do what MLB has done in the past. They need to step in when the product on the field is clearly in chaos. They need issue an order for the owner to hire a suitable GM and Coach to raise the standard of play or be forced to sell the team.

Having an 0-16 team is bad for the league, especially when the team has only won 10 games in three years. Its a hazard, can you imagine if Eli or Payton Manning got knocked out for the season during a game with the Lions, it would be such a waste. So, I think the league owners on the competition committee need to sit down with the Ford's and discuss a plan to bring them to the level they need to compete in the NFL., otherwise you could see a collapse of one of the NFL's charter teams.

The offense started playing decent in the second half of the season.
The offense line wasn't nearly as bad. Johnson and Smith are keepers.

They need to draft linebackers and defensive linemen.

They need a new head coach and GM.

they need defense. they lost yesterday because they couldn't stop green bay in the 4th quarter. the front office changes already started at least they realized that.

i dont think they should break up the dan "safety" orlovsky / kevin "mallrat" smith / calvin "megatron" johnson battery.

and they should re-hire marinelli. (he got fired this morning) at least they were trying. unlike kansas city and st. louis. they just have a really bad team

You would think they would fire everyone, especially in the front office, But being that its the lions, they have actually promoted from within the organization. Tom Lewand has been promoted from COO to President, and Martin Mayhew has been given the permanent position of General Manager. Unbelievable. I guess lions just want to go on sucking. They did get rid of alot of the coaches. its just unbelievable there are going to keep a lot of the front office people the same, of course minus Matt Millen.

The Lions need to have some upper management changes. They have some players who have talent but they are just not clicking on the field. Take advantage of the upcoming draft. Make some trades in the off season. Listen to what the palyers are saying and make the ajustments which they feel are necessary. Perhaps pick up Michael Vick when he is released.

They really need a coaching change, no doubt. They need a QB who can actually come up with the big plays that they need. Well actually, they could use a lot new players, like a good RB, and they need to get their QB to connect with his receivers.
