Mike ShanahanTotal Pro Sports – The Denver Broncos have fired Mike Shanahan the second longest-tenured NFL coach. Mike Shanahan had 3 years and $20 million left on his contract.

The Broncos this season lost a 3 game lead with three games to go in the AFC West and fell from a playoff spot. The Denver Broncos also had one of the worst defenses in the league allowing 448 points, third worst in the NFL.  All of this lead to Mike Shanahans firing.

Shanahan, 56, coached the Broncos since 1995, behind only Tennessee’s Jeff Fisher in tenure with one team. He led the Broncos to consecutive Super Bowl victories in 1998 and 1999 and compiled a record of 146-89 with the team.

We don’t see Mike Shanahan being unemployed for long in the NFL, there are definitely positions available.  Look for him to take one of the vacancies in New York, Detroit, and Cleveland.
