Henrik Zetterberg SignsTotal Pro Sports – We have been following this story for several weeks now, our questions have finally been answered. A report coming from The Booth Newspaper says that Henrik Zetterberg has signed a 12 year extension worth $72 million. Zetterberg has spent his entire six year career with the Red Wings and will most likely end his career in Hockey Town.

The Red Wings have had one of the most talented rosters year after year for the last decade. Those that work in the front office do a great job of signing the right veterans and the scouts do a great job of drafting young talent. Zetterberg was no exception, he slipped into the later rounds of the draft and has matured into one of the best forwards in the league. At $6 million a season the Red Wings have locked up a top line forward and arguably a top 15 forward in the league.

Although the deal has yet to be confirmed by either his agent or Zetterberg himself, it seems likely that the Red Wings have made this a reality. Their next step is to sign other key future FA’s such as Johan Franzen and Marion Hossa. Detroit continues to build on a dynasty that will forever be remembered among the great teams of the past.
