Total Pro Sports – This week’s NHL Power Rankings sees the Boston Bruins remain in top spot and two southern teams taking big steps but in opposite directions.

NHL Power Rankings Movers And Shakers

The biggest Shakers in our NHL Power Rankings this week were the Phoenix Coyotes dropping 8 spots to find themselves at #23.

The second biggest shaker was the Calgary Flames and New York Rangers both falling 3 spots ending up at #9 and #11 respectively.

The biggest Movers in our NHL Power Rankings this week were the Dallas Stars climbing up 6 spots to end up at #14.

2	36-7-7	-	With the Bruins success and the Sharks on a slide going winless in their last 3 games Tuesday’s matchup vs. Boston is a big game for San Jose.
3	34-16-4	-	Mike Green has put together back-to-back solid weeks and is looking to challenge Zdeno Chara for the Norris Trophy.
4	35-11-7	1	Two ex-Penguins were able to exact some revenge on their former team with Marian Hossa scoring on a great backhand and Ty Conklin posting the shutout between the pipes.
5	33-17-3	1	Saw their 8 game win streak come to an end after losing 5-2 to the Capitals.
6	29-14-8	3	Despite their loss to the Canucks, the Blackhawks had a good week beating the Oilers and Flames.
7	28-15-9	3	Were lead by Scott Hartnell and Jeff Carter who combined for 4 goals and 6 assists.
8	29-18-6	1	Were only able to pull out one win which was against the struggling Penguins.
9	30-18-4	3	Despite Mike Cammalleri‘s goal scoring the Flames still find themselves on a 4 game losing streak.
10	28-20-6	1	Will be interesting to see who steps up in Thomas Vanek‘s absence.
11	29-19-5	3	Got absolutely hammered by the Stars losing 10-2.
12	27-22-5	1	Finally broke out scoring seven times in a 7-2 beating of the Phoenix Coyotes.
13	27-24-5	1	An okay but not great week going 2-2.
14	26-19-7	6	Continue to be the hottest team in the NHL lead by the greatly improved play of Marty Turco.
15	25-19-8	1	Should be interesting to see how the Panthers respond with the team’s new “Playoffs Or 4 Games Free” promise to the fans.
16	27-22-3	2	Had a solid 3-0 shutout win over the Ducks.
17	26-24-5	1	Were embarrassed by two former Penguins in their 3-0 loss to the Red Wings.
18	24-20-8	3	Won both games last week. The start of something or just a blip?
19	26-23-4	2	Were embarrassed for the second week in a row getting blown out 8-3 by the Red Wings this time.
20	25-23-5	1	Haven’t fared too well without Steve Mason losing 2 of their 3 games, although they were able to beat the Sharks in their only win.
21	23-21-7	3	Find themselves on a 3 game win streak thanks to the great play of goaltender Jonathan Quick.
22	25-25-3	1	Solid week including a 2-0 shutout win over the Wild.
23	24-25-5	8	After gaining some ground the young Yotes have slipped again and are currently on a 6 game losing streak.
24	25-27-1	2	Managed to snap their losing streak but the success didn’t last long losing 4-1 to the Blues.
25	22-24-6	1	Pretty good week for the Blues collecting 6 out of a possible 8 points.
26	20-24-9	1	Blew a 3-1 lead to the Panthers and no-showed for their game against the Sabres leaving rookie Justin Pogge out to dry.
27	18-24-11	-	Were able to snap their winless streak with a 1-0 win over the Islanders.
28	18-25-8	-	Put an end to their winless streak with a thrilling 3-2 shootout victory over the Sabres.
29	18-31-5	-	Even with young guys like Bryan Little and Zach Bogosian one has to wonder how much longer Ilya Kovalchuk will want to stay if the team doesn’t find a way to win in the near future.
30	16-31-5	-	After a nice 4 game win streak the Islanders have now lost 2 games in a row to the Panthers and Lightning.
