The avg. attendance figure for 2008-2008 is 17,309, and for 2008-2009 it was 17,475.  For the 5 years pre-lock out it was roughly 16,500.  

As a point of comparison the NBA averages in the mid-to-high 17k.


As for your contention that,  &quot;if you are close enough to the ice you hear 3 or 4 different languages being spoke, the least of which is English.&quot;, the percentage of Americans in the game is about 22%(one of the few nationalities that has increased in the last 5 years).  The percentage of Canadians is 55%.  No other country is above 7%.  Even if half of those Canadians spoke only French, then 49% of the league would have English as their primary language.

I can&#039;t believe someone employs you to write about the NHL when a simple internet search reveals your contentions to be completely baseless.</description>
