Total Pro Sports - We have been honored yet again with another High School Basketball highlight.

This past Friday March 6th during the Section Finals game, Dayton Christian faced off against Arcanum at the University of Dayton Arena. During the game guard Casey Weber of Dayton Christian High School threw up a prayer and nailed a 90 foot 3-pointer buzzer beater at the end of the third quarter.  Dayton went on to win the game 63-46.

The 6-foot senior buried a 90-footer as the third-quarter buzzer sounded in the Warriors’ 63-46 victory over Arcanum at UD Arena on Friday, March 6. In practice on Monday at Far Hills Community Church’s gymnasium, with WDTN-TV’s camera rolling, Weber connected again from 80 feet.

“I said, ‘I told you I was going to hit one,’ ” Weber said. “When I got back to the bench, I was like, ‘Hey coach, practice makes perfect." [DaytonDailyNews]

Nice shot and it was a long way away but 90-feet? NOPE! A regulation court is 94-feet long. This kid was about 5-feet from the FT line meaning it was at best about an 85-footer and probably more like an 80-footer since the basket is on the court by a few feet. Impressive shot but get the math right please

      Jon-

Rememeber doing geometery in junior high? There’s a thing called Pythagoren’s Theorm. Anyway, the kid may have been 85 feet down the court, but he was also basically on the edge of the court meaning that he was right around 24 feet from the center of the court. Do the math and you’ll discover that the distance he was from the basket when he made the shot was just over 88 feet. Get the math right please.

Yeah the kid is remarkable. ESPN was at his practice the other day and had him try the shot again and he swished it. They also took shots of him dunking. He ended up doing a windmill dunk. He is only 6 feet tall if that. And last year didnt even make the team. Tonight in the district finals Weber had 15 points and twelve were three pointers.
