Sidney Crosby, Chris Kunitz & Bill GuerinTotal Pro Sports – This week’s NHL Power Rankings has the San Jose Sharks dropping out of the top 3 and the New York Islanders finally moving out of the basement.

Red ArrowThe biggest Shakers in our NHL Power Rankings this week were the drowning Anaheim Ducks dropping 3 spots to land at #21.

The second biggest shaker was the Chicago Blackhawks, Buffalo Sabres, and St.Louis Blues all falling 2 spots to end up at #11, #15 and #22 respectively.

Green ArrowThe biggest Movers in our NHL Power Rankings this week were the red hot Pittsburgh Penguins climbing up 4 spots to sit at #10.

8 Montreal Canadiens 35-24-7 Red Arrow1 Not the greatest of weeks losing to the Sabres 5-1 and then getting shutout 2-0 to the Thrashers.
9 Vancouver Canucks 34-22-8 Green Arrow1 Solid week winning both of their games beating the Wild 4-2 and the sharks 3-1.
10 Pittsburgh Penguins 35-26-6 Green Arrow4 Won 5 road games in a row for the first time in franchise history.
11 Chicago Blackhawks 36-19-9 Red Arrow2 Samuel Pahlsson can’t be inserted into the lineup soon enough as the ‘Hawks have lost their last two games.
12 New York Rangers 34-24-8 Red Arrow1 The Rangers new additions of Nik Antropov and Derek Morris seem to be helping as they won both of their games last week.
13 Florida Panthers 34-24-8 Red Arrow1 David Booth showed off his scoring ability netting a hat-trick in the Panthers 5-3 win over the Blues.
14 Carolina Hurricanes 35-27-5 Green Arrow2 Solid week lead by the duo of Eric Staal and newly acquired Erik Cole who combined for 16 points in 3 games.

25 Ottawa Senators 25-29-10 Green Arrow1 Good week for the Sens winning 2 out of their 3 games including a 6-3 victory over the Sabres.
26 Phoenix Coyotes 28-33-5 Red Arrow1 Had a terrible month of February and so far March doesn’t appear to be any better after going 1-2 last week.
27 Atlanta Thrashers 25-35-6 Green Arrow1 Good week for the Thrashers going 2-1 including a 2-0 shutout win over the Canadiens.
28 Colorado Avalanche 29-36-1 Red Arrow1 Were able to put an end to their 6 game losing streak with a 5-1 win over the Blackhawks.
29 New York Islanders 22-37-7 Green Arrow1 Some positive news for once as the Islanders went 4-1-1 on their 6 game home stand.
30 Tampa Bay Lightning 21-32-13 Red Arrow1 Currently on a 3 game winless streak.
