Marty's second goal was on an odd play. He dumped the puck down to the opposite end against the Flyers, but there was a delayed penalty on the Devils so Philly pulled their goalie, a Flyer defenseman takes the puck which was dumped down into his end, he's behind his net and proceeds to skate it out, and then proceed to do a drop pass to no one and the puck goes into his own net. Marty gets credit for the goal as the last NJ player to touch the puck.

Sorry............maybe I am obtuse, but I don't exactly get what this means. Can someone explain it to me?
