this is so stupid. a basketball player with no true football experience going to the nfl. i definately wouldnt pick him. yes he's a freak athlete with an extreme height advantage against corners or linebackers if he played WR or TE. but it would take years for him to get accustomed to playing against real talent and learn a real football offense. he wouldnt be playing against some little 5'8 corner in highscool, but real beasts like shawn merriman and troy palimalu. he has no experience against elite level competition and would be badly outclassed. that would be like russell shepard coming from highschool to starting for the lions. he would get murdered....

Lebron would be the #1 NFL pick, a no brainer. He is as good or better playing football as he is at basketball. Just think of the fan interest level if he decided to go NFL, it would be unimaginable.
It's not beyond belief that Lebron would immediately become the best wide receiver in pro football. For the Cleveland Cavs sake however, I hope he never leaves basketball.

I thought this question was "Would You Take LeBron James If He Declared For The NFL?", meaning would you take him with any pick, not necessarily "would you take him #1 (or #5)".

That being said, if my reading comprehension is correct, then I am floored that 54 people wouldn't take LBJ in the draft. You wouldn't take a ridiculous 6 foot 8 inch BEAST who could play any number of positions both on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball??!!!!!????? REALLY????? He could easily be an elite TE or WR on offense. You give him 1 training camp, and he's more valuable than 90% of the players at both positions. Imagine him in the red zone, is there anyone in football right now that could stop him singled up man to man on the edge within the 5 yard line? It's not like he's not insanely fast or incredibly talented at catching objects while flying through the air.

On defense he could probably be a decent DE in a 4-3 and OLB in a 3-4. Depending on how well he can pick up coverages/defensive schemes/ (which for him wouldn't be that tough considering how smart he is) he would literally change the way the position of free safety is played.

Basically, he would be one of the best at whatever position he wanted to put his mind to. I also have no durability or character concerns with him. AND HE'S 24.

I would 100% take him #1 overall in almost any draft class you wanted to theoretically put him in through history, let alone this draft.

Matt Stafford? HA, you must be kidding.
