Nuggets Beat The Hornets By NBA Record 58 Points
Total Pro Sports – No this is not an error, the Denver Nuggets tied an NBA record, by destroying the New Orleans Hornets by 58 points in game 4 of the their first round series of the 2009 NBA Playoffs. The previous record was set by the Minneapolis Lakers who beat the St. Louis Hawks 133-75 in 1956.
The Denver Nuggets were lead by forward Carmelo Anthony who poured in 26 points, added 6 rebounds and 7 assists in the 121-63 win. Coach George Karl had this to say about his team and the win,
“Every coach talks about playing a playoff game, every possession having value, every possession having intensity to it,” Karl began. “I thought my team, probably in my career, I’ve never seen a team probably do that on every possession — do what they were supposed to do and play the game the right way — as much as they did tonight.”
Lead by Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups, if the Nuggets can continue to play and score as a team don’t be shocked if you see the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Finals this year.
