Trojans Safety Taylor Mays Give In-Depth Look At The USC Song Girls
Meet Taylor Mays. He has just completed his junior season playing safety at USC. He started every game in his college career and has been named to the All-American and All-Pac 10 teams twice. Although projected to be a top 10 pick in the 2009 NFL entry draft, he declined and decided to stay at the University of Southern California. Why did he make such a decision? Likely because the opportunity to practice some dance moves with the USC Song Girls is too hard to turn down. If you don’t feel the same way, just check them out in their bikinis at a charity event. I’d say they stack up quite nicely with the Arizona State cheerleaders, and the rest of the best.
Mays and fellow teammate Damian Williams got an inside look at the song girls as they shot footage of their practice. Mays even joined in for some exercises. Hopefully NFL scouts don’t see this. He appears to have some flexibility issues.
Mays interviews the girls as well and talks about having discussions with them on the field during games. He even states that next year he will write “song girls” on his eye black. Should be interesting, although I don’t think that is the type of thing that puts fear in the eyes of the opposing offenses. Projected by some to be the top player in the 2010 NFL Draft, don’t expect that to hurt his value.
