Milton Bradley’s Kindness Results In Terrible Error
K-Rod And Bruney Stir Things Up In Subway Series Finale
The two combatants had to be separated by teammates during batting practice yesterday prior to the final game between the Yankees and the Mets at the new Yankee Stadium. One day earlier, Bruney took issue with K-Rod’s celebrations on the mound, calling them a “tired act.” Francisco Rodriguez responded by stating that he didn’t know who the Yankee righty was and he should “shut his mouth.” It seems like K-Rod didn’t think Bruney got the message through the media, so he decided to tell him in person on the field.
The incident began as K-Rod was pointing and directing comments towards Bruney, who didn’t seem to have much to say in return. A visibly upset Rodriguez continued to try and get at Bruney, only to be held up by his teammates as well as a couple of Yankee players. The show would finally end when Mets pitcher Mike Pelfrey got in front of K-Rod and escorted him away.
That was just about all the interest produced during yesterday’s game between the two teams as the Yankees would lay a 15-0 beating on their cross-town rivals.
Video of the incident also shows Yankee fans yelling at K-Rod and taunting him. Good thing he didn’t try to get into the stands. Yanks fans are no strangers to fights and throwing Bruce Lee flying kicks. Of course, Mets fans are no pushovers either. Just ask this Phillies fan.
Here is a clip of the altercation between K-Rod and Bruney. Maybe the Yanks reliever could have used a juiced up A-Rod to defend him. In a battle of the “Rods,” I’m taking the “A.”
