Anna Kournikova Gets Into A Las Vegas Catfight
Ex-Phillie Darren Daulton Is The Self Proclaimed Drug-Lord Of Sports
Total Pro Sports – To anyone who has heard Darren Daulton, the Ex-Philladelphia Phillies star, speak about his time traveling escapades, conspiracy theories, and metaphysics, the following will not come as much of a surprise. Heck. For anyone who has kept up with the unveiling of stories about former baseball players, this may just be another scar on the badly beaten body of America’s greatest pastime.
In a recent interview with ESPN Radio Philadelphia, Daulton spoke mostly about the great Phillies team from 1993, but he also found time to state that “I can assure you there is probably no one in any sport that has taken more drugs than I have.” Here is how the conversation developed:
Q: Did you use (steroids)?
Daulton: “As we know Mike, I’ve been in rehab, I’ve been in jail, not necessarily for those reasons. I’ve taken more drugs than steroids. I’m not going to apologize for the things I’ve done in life. That’s life, that’s how you learn. We’ve all down stuff that in society people perceive them as bad. I just don’t care to give that any more energy because people will take that and run with it. I’ve been in a rehab before. ”
Q: I understand that, I’m just trying to pin it down, where you using steroids as a player?
Daulton: “If I told you all the drugs that I’ve taken, Mike, you would open that up as a can of worms (laughing). I don’t feel that you or anyone else needs to know anything that I’ve ever done to respect me. No disrespect, that’s just the way I am. I feel if I told you all the drugs I’ve ever taken that would reflect on someone else. I can assure you there’s probably no one in any sport that has taken more drugs thank I have and I think people still respect me. It’s not what goes in, it’s what comes out.” [Sports Radio Interviews]
Daulton has led quite the interesting life. Drugs will do that. If only he could go back in time, maybe he could change his comments, or even ease up on the drugs a bit. Oh ya! He can go back in time! It’s never to late Darren. And maybe you can take Manny, Sosa, and A-Rod with you.
I wonder what Wade Boggs would say to Daulton.
