The Stat Line Of The Night – 07/07/09 – Paul Konerko

by: JamieD On  Wednesday, July 8, 2009

paul-konerkoTotal Pro  Sports – The Chicago White Sox have been on quite a tear recently, and last night Paul Konerko’s bat followed suit.  Looking to remain two games back of top spot in the AL Central, they used a career day from the first baseman to top the Cleveland Indians 10-6.

Konerko was on fire all night, going 3 for 4, but the most impressive part was all three hits made it over the outfield fence.  Home runs in the 2nd and 7th innings and a grand slam in the 6th was enough to Sox up 10-3 at one point and they never looked back.  At the end of the night, Konerko had 7 RBIs, earning himself “The Stat Line Of The Night” for Tiesday, July 7th, 2009.

The White Sox and Indians will continue their three-game set tonight in Chicago.  What is usually an intriguing matchup has lost some of its luster due to the poor season Cleveland has had thus far.  That should not stop the White Sox from coming out hard in an attempt to overtake Detroit for top spot in the division.
