Pretty sure that wasn't his stance, seeing as how he retracted his arm once he realized the prick was rushing him. As for those of you saying "Omg they only need to touch once." Doing so because the ref asks it isn't really that special. Doing so after the bell has rung is sign of respect for your opponent as a sportsman. It only takes, what, an extra 3 seconds of the fight?. Pretty sure no one is in that big of a hurry(Or you wouldn't be reading this). Oh well, he got his cheap win and learned nothing from it.

It's not like he was reaching out to touch gloves and than sucker punched him. He came out with his hands in fighting position and bounced across the ring like he was going to clock him, which he did. It's clear to me that he wasn't going to touch gloves and he was ready to fight. The other guy should have been ready.

I Fight pro and their is a reason why the ref makes you touch gloves, makes it clear the first rule is to protect yourself at all times, and then tripple checks by asking if your ready before the sound of the bell rings... and ITS ON. i go in ready for anything even a fake glove tap counter. In my eyes i would do the exact same especially with the build up from the night before.

GOOD JOB BAKER maybe ill see u if u drop to 185.

Nick Dias's stance looks exactly like way Sauve was standing. Emotions run high and the number one rule in MMA is when the bell rings PROTECT YOURSELF AT ALL TIMES! Good job Mat.

How many times do you have to touch gloves? Once is more then enough to be sportsman like. Besides that its a fight and baker one by all the rules.. I would do the exzact same especialy with Suave refusing to shake hands and do a stare-down the night before at the weigh-ins.

Personaly I think Baker could have done better then 6 seconds if he decided to actually sprint across and drop him.

How Would It Sound If The Ref Said:

"Touch Gloves... Then Come Out And Touch Gloves Before Fighting"

I'm Pretty Sure This Is Why The Ref Says:
"TOUCH GLOVES AND COME OUT FIGHTING"

GOOD JOB BAKER!!

from another point of view it looks like the opponent is holding distance to throw a jab. Alot of fighers keep distance this way, especially if they have a reach advantage.
