Fantasy Football: Week 3 Waiver Wire Watch
Total Pro Sports – In order to be successful in your fantasy league, you will need to be on top of your waiver wire. Knowing which players are available, and of those, which have value is an important part of building a winning team as the season goes on.
It can be difficult to identify such players, and that is why we here at TPS are going to help you out. Each Tuesday for the remainder of the season, we will give you some players to look out for that may be on your waiver wire. These players are the ones we assume are available in most leagues, but beware. There may be better free agents out there that we have not listed because we just assume that someone should already have taken them. If one of those guys is a free agent in your league, PICK HIM UP!
Here is a look at some guys you may want to take a look at in you league:
Mark Sanchez, NYJ, QB: For those who have Donovan McNabb or Matt Hasselbeck and are looking for a quick week three filler, Mark Sanchez may be one good option out there you will want to consider. His stats have not been off the charts, but he has managed to put up double-digits in his first two career starts and should get more opportunities to pass the ball as he gains more experience. This week the Jets may not have much of a choice as they take on a Titans team that has been stingy against the run but ineffective defending the pass. If the ground game isn’t working for New York, they will have to turn to Sanchez and that could translate into a nice looking stat line.
Kevin Kolb, PHI, QB: It is still unclear as to whether Donovan McNabb will suit up for week three, but should he sit one more game out, Kolb is someone you may want to look at for a one week stint. His value will drop dramatically next week, with the Eagles on the bye in week 4 and McNabb almost certain to return in week 5, but Kolb is another quarterback that may be worth a shot in week three.
Tashard Choice, DAL, RB: The Cowboys rushing attack looked strong on Sunday night, even against a stellar Giants defense. Now they will have to make good without the services of Marion Barber for the next week or two as he suffered a quadriceps injury late in the fourth quarter. that is bad news for Cowboys fans but good news for Felix Jones owners and those looking to pick up a running back this week. If you are one of the latter, Choice is your man. Keep in mind that Jones has also had a history with injuries, making the possibility of Choice becoming the number one man a very real possibility
Mario Manningham, NYG, WR: As the Giants receivers continue to go down with injuries, Mario Manningham continues to move up the depth chart. With Hixon sustaining an injury in Sunday night’s game and Manningham putting up big numbers in his first two weeks, he should now find himself starting along side Steve Smith. With Eli Manning looking strong thus far this season, Manningham is the perfect addition to any team in need of a top end wideout.
Laurent Robinson, STL, WR: If there was one receiver from the Rams that most drafted prior to the season, it was Donnie Avery. If you were one of those owners, then you may want to drop him for Laurent Robinson. The third year player out of Illinois State has led the Rams receivers in most categories and should be a decent addition to any team looking for some depth at the position.
