David Beats Goliath In DREAM 11 MMA Bout

1

David Beats Goliath In DREAM 11 MMA BoutTotal Pro Sports -When Jose Canseco took on the 7-foot-2, 319-pound Hong Man Choi back in May, even his 6-foot-4, 240-pound frame was no match for the Korean giant.

So when the much smaller Ikuhisa "Minowaman" Minowa stepped into the ring with Choi this past weekend for their semifinal bout in the Super Hulk Tournament at DREAM 11, it almost seemed unfair to even go through with it.  That was until Minowa ended the fight with a heal hook submission.

The 5-foot-9, 193-pound "David" kept his distance for much of the first round.  He did at one point take down "Goliath" and get in some shots to the body, but it was the following round that he would finally take advantage using his ground game.  After bringing Choi down with him, Minowa worked himself on top and finally locked in a heal hook to secure the victory.

Minowaman will now take on Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou in the final, and while he will go into this fight with a size disadvantage once again, we have already learned not to count out the little guy.  Not to mention that this time the size difference will be 26 pounds, rather than 126.

Here is a look at the final round of the bout.
