Twins Fan Gives Metrodome A Final Farewell
Total Pro sports – When the 2009 MLB season began, we gave you the first ever streaker at the New York Mets’ new Citi Field. It is only appropriate than now we give you the last ever fan to run onto the field during a Minnesota Twins baseball game at the Metrodome.
The Twins played their final game at the big dome in Minneapolis Sunday when they were eliminated from the playoffs after being defeated in game 3 of the American League Division Series by the New York Yankees. With the team set to play at the new Target Field in 2010, one fan dawning a Bert Blyleven jersey decided to make his mark on this momentous occasion, giving the Metrodome field security crew on last run for their money.
The intruder came roaring onto the field, middle fingers in the air, and went right for the baggied center field wall. Thinking it was as easy as Torii Hunter has made it look several times before, he attempted to provide the fans with one final climb, but could not quite make it over as security was able to bring him down.
Unfortunately, the last thing to actually make it over the wall was a Jorge Posada home run, which sealed the fate of the Twins, but not before this guy could give the crowd one last thing to cheer about.
