2009 NFL Power Rankings: Week 5
Mike Sims-Walker Trades NFL Start for Road Beef
Total Pro Sports – Didn’t Mike Sims-Walker of the Jacksonville Jaguars seem like a great start for your fantasy team this week? I mean the kid has looked good all year and had just put up 2 touchdowns against Tennessee last week. The wide receiver was poised for a great Week 5 against a shaky Seattle defense. Unfortunately he was a late scratch for the game. He wasn’t hurt and he didn’t have any kind of family emergency, however. Instead, he was out chasing tail:
Everyone wants to know why Jaguars receiver Mike Sims-Walker was deactivated for Sunday’s 41-0 blowout at Seattle.
Well, the answer is simpler than you think.
Sims-Walker missed bed check Friday night due to a visit with a female friend that went a little long, according to an NFL source, who described the situation [sic] by saying, “undefeated and untied.”
Wow. It is almost unthinkable that a player would miss a game because a visit with a female friend “went too long”. She better have been as hot as one of these women in painted on jerseys. In terms of fantasy impact, I’m guessing he will be a green light for next week, but the coaches have got to be pretty pissed off.
So the question is, can you be mad at him? What guy hasn’t been late to an important engagement because he was tied up with a “female friend”? I mean, when its happened to me it wasn’t a nationally televised multi-million dollar job, but still.
At least he didn’t choke her like our friend Shawne Merriman. So there’s that.
