The Stat Line of the Night – 10/18/09 – Tom Brady
Total Pro Sports – Many football fans and fantasy football owners alike have been trying to figure out the enigma that is Tom Brady‘s 2009 NFL season. Question’s have continued to surface regarding whether he is still ailing from knee surgery, and when will he be back to his usual form, if ever. Just leave it to a game against the horrid Tennessee Titans defense to answer such questions.
Playing on a Gillette Stadium field which was covered in snow, Brady was not about to let the elements slow him down as he torched a weak Titans secondary and set an NFL record for most touchdown passes in a quarter with five in the second. He would go on to add one more in the third, along with 380 passing yards, as the Patriots took this game easily by a score of 59-0. Brady was pulled before getting the opportunity to throw number seven on the afternoon, but three quarters of play was all he needed to earn himself “The Stat Line Of The Night” for Sunday, October 18, 2009.
So will the air show continue for Brady and company next week? With the Pats set to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, we wouldn’t doubt it. You can be the fans at Wembley Stadium in London, England will be looking forward to it. Unfortunately the same should not be said for the Bucs’ secondary.
