It's been done ad nauseum and it's tired. Conversely, the Don Cherry jersey is a fresh concept. Don Cherry is a Canadian icon in hockey circles. Red neck as he is, ya gotta love the wardrobe get-ups that have added to his fame. Plus he is an avid supporter of the troops and weeps every time he announces the name of yet another fallen soldier on his Coaches Corner show. I wager that hundreds of Don Cherry adult recreational league hockey players (such as two of our sons) would pay a couple of hundred bucks for the jersey and support the troops at the same time. Could raise a whole pile of money for the troops way beyond what 20 jerseys could.
