Did Kobe Bryant Leave Phil Jackson Hanging?
Carmelo Anthony Puts Exclamation Point Dunk On Paul Millsap
Total Pro Sports- The NBA season has begun and Carmelo Anthony and the Denver Nuggets are out to prove all the naysayers wrong. They did so last night with a resounding win over a good Utah Jazz team. A huge 31-11 2nd half run put them ahead for good, but Melo’s sweet steal and slam was the dagger. He may not have been trying to dunk on our ex-President like LeBron, but this was a statement dunk nonetheless.
The Nuggets had a great season last year, culminating in an amazing playoff series with the Lakers which they lost. Coming into this season one would think they were favored to be solid again, but with all the acquisitions that occurred for the other NBA powerhouses, the Nuggets have been vilified a bit for standing still and making no moves of their own.
Melo was having none of it from the doubters last night though, posting 30 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and a block and steal for good measure. His game has clearly improved to the point where he is able to find the open man and pile up the assists getting his teammates involved more. In prior years, he would just jack up bad shots left and right, but this year and towards the end of last season it finally seemed like he was developing some court vision.
It may have been the first game of the season, but that game and Melo’s dunk could be a statement for how the rest of the Nuggets’ year will play out. Also maybe Melo will get a puppet commercial like LeBron and Kobe. You never know.
