Regardless of the "jostling" which seemed pretty routine, there was absolutely no excuse for the response of Ms. Lambert. There is no place on the field for such actions. Does Ms. Lambert know what an honor it is to be an NCAA athlete? She and her teammates obviously have some work to do on the sportsmanship issue. I have seen my own daughter pushed down and kicked in the ribs after she scored a goal on the high-school level while the refs were not watching- but I can't see how the refs could possibly miss this behavior. I am sorry for the black eye that Women's Soccer will suffer from this. There are a million little soccer girls who are more deserving to play than Ms Lambert. My recommendation: remove Ms. Lambert from ALL NCAA sports for the duration of her college career. I also think that she should never in her life be able to coach the sport and spread her vicious tactics to young girls- even if she is VOLUNTEERING. It is a privilege to be an NCAA athlete and Ms. Lambert's time is up. -- and her team should be watched with great care to be sure that they clean up their act. This behavior is tolerated by coaches- so her coaches should be disciplined as well (and they didn't remove her themselves!) As for the refs- I say that they are DONE. Today my 8 year old son accidentally grabbed onto someone today while falling and a penalty was called. I explained the rules to him about keeping his hands to himself etc. Then we came home and saw this on the news!! Seriously! This girl is am embarrasment to the sport! She is absolutely disposable! If I was the coach I would absolutely suspend her for the season and I do agree she would be lucky if the girl didnt get her with assault! Sad! I completely agree! I am so upset by this!
