Fantasy Football: Week 12 Start’em & Sit’em
Fantasy Football: TPS Monday Afternoon Quarterback (Week 12)
It was Thanksgiving weekend in America and that meant the NFL action began in full force on Thursday, right through until the big game tonight between the New Orleans Saints and the New England Patriots. Although only one match up thus far has featured two teams with winning records (Giants vs. Broncos on Thursday night), there was still plenty of meaningful and exciting games, including the Colts big second half comeback against the Texans to keep their undefeated record alive and become the first team to clinch a playoff birth. And let’s not forget the rematch between the two quarterbacks from the 2006 Rose Bowl. Back then Vince Young used a last minute drive and a last second touchdown run to beat Matt Leinart’s USC Trojans and win the National Championship for his Texas Longhorns. This time Young was at it again, hitting Kenny Brit on the last play in the end zone to give his Titans the 20-17 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. Thing are now getting interesting as the battle for playoff spots heats up. Some teams have taken themselves out of contention with loses, while others, like the Titans, have put themselves right in the mix with victories. It was surely an exciting week 12, and the best is still yet to come!
Here is a look at what happened during week 12 in this edition of the TPS Monday Afternoon Quarterback.
Green Bay 34 at Detroit 12 - It may be time to seriously consider taking the Lions off the Thanksgiving Thursday slate of games.
Oakland 7 at Dallas 24 -Of the 16 games the Cowboys will play this season, they had to choose the one against the Raiders for Thanksgiving?
New York Giants 6 at Denver 26 – A six game winning streak. Then a four game losing streak. Now another winning streak begins for the Broncs, but how long will it last?
Tampa Bay 17 at Atlanta 20 – The Falcons’ training room is quickly being filled by key players, but I can’t help but wonder what Michael Turner was doing out there in the first place?
Miami 14 at Buffalo 31 – With long touchdowns in back-to-back weeks, T.O. may have found a new best friend in Ryan Fitzpatrick…for now.
Washington 24 at Philadelphia 27 – The Eagles got the victory, but not without paying a hefty price as DeSean Jackson is the second key offensive player for them to sustain a concussion. Now the question is how long will they miss him for?
Seattle 27 at St. Louis 17 – This may have been the performance that earns Justin Forsett the starting job ahead of Julius Jones.
Carolina 6 at New York Jets 17 – In a battle of turnover prone quarterbacks, Delhomme stood out more (4 INTs), and that was a bad thing for his team.
Cleveland 7 at Cincinnati 16 – They won the game, but what has happened to the Bengals over the past two weeks?
Indianapolis 35 at Houston 27 – For a bit it looked like the Texans may have done it, until Manning and company woke up.
Kansas City 14 at San Diego 43 – Don’t look now, but the Chargers may be the hottest team in the NFL.
Jacksonville 3 at San Francisco 20 – Once again the Jags proved they are an entirely different team on the road.
Chicago 10 at Minnesota 36 - Forget Adrian Peterson. Is there any stopping Brett Favre?
Arizona 17 at Tennessee 20 – Vince Young had to win this one with his arm, and he did just that.
Pittsburgh 17 at Baltimore 20 (OT) – Dennis Dixon did what he could through four quarters, but his inexperience eventually caught up to him in overtime.
