hey, its the original poster of the video (mayawazumi from YouTube) and the sister of 07. I was at the game and talked to her afterwards about everything that happened.

first off, some of you people are saying she barely got knocked down, that it was the defence's job to protect the goalie. Well, yeah it is their job to keep the goalie clear, but im not sure if some of you were paying attention to the part where the stick and fist went to the back of her head.

secondly, that little period of time while she was on the ice alone, that was not crying, but an overwhelming build up of vomit from cookies and brownies before game time. gross and embarrassing, but true.

ill be posting some highlight videos of her goals and plays. not only is she a fighter, but a crediable player.

No class whatsoever, if you are going to fight hav some class and do it one on one while standing. Not walling around on the ice like a beached whale. Also, real hockey players take the masks off before fighting.

What are these refs doing?? The one just stands there along the boards and watches this go on for 2 minutes without any sort of attempt to break it up

I agree with your statement about a female playing hockey in an all male league should be prepared for the same physical contact that the boys endure… but those 3 guys were clearly head-hunting her.

She was hit from behind by 2 defensemen that were twice as big as her on a scoring opportunity, and then some offish forward decides to flop on top of her with his stick across the back of her neck and she still came back up swinging!!! I don't know about you, but she clearly has more balls than all 3 of those cowards!

It is by rule that those refs didn't just jump in and break it up, yes they could've taken a more active approach in stopping it but what mostly irked me about this column was how it is presented like she should be receiving an award. She was standing in the crease blocking their goalies eyesite and trying to clean up, their job as defenders is to prevent this among other things. She being pushed down started the brawl cause she's a female.. BS, she got what was coming and you sir are the idiot for failing to mention the most disturbing part of the video. Which is none removed their gloves which extremely poor ettiquet and very dangerous.

1) Most stupid brawl start ever, she got like half-tripped then fallen on?! Big deal

2) The referee's in that sort of brawl can't really do anything (Speaking from my own experiences as a referee) You basically haffto wait for the fight to die down, and then just go pair for pair (as a team) and work on the entire situation.
