I totally agree with your American military comment. People seem to forget what we are capable of. A couple of shuttle missions and we could disable most of the planets global communications. We can have military airpower anywhere in the world in under 72 hrs. The last two (three) wars we've fought we've had total air superiority almost from the get-go. And if all else fails, we've still got enough nuclear subs out there to decimate any country. Plus we have all the natural resources and manufacturing facilities necessary to build all the weapons we'd need. Nobody is ever going to take down the USA.

And if they could hit the bat with a hockey stick, they certainly could have caught it with a net.
