The Stat Line of the Night – 12/22/09 – Zach Randolph
I never thought I would say this about Zach Randolph, but the guy is playing hard on both ends of the floor and is helping his team win this year. Although his new team the Grizzlies are only 13-15, that is a vast improvement from the last few years where they have been the doormat of most of the league. Randolph and some very exciting young players have been the reason for that.
Last night, Z-Bo posted a ridiculous line in the Grizzlies shootout win over the Warriors. He scored 33 points on 14-21 shooting and grabbed 18 rebounds. He also went 5-5 from the free throw line. This win for the Grizz caps off a nice 3-game winning streak that has put them on the map in the West. Randolph put up 17 points in a 2nd quarter that saw the Grizz outscore their opponents 36-20 and pull away.
Zach Randolph is averaging almost 20 points and 11 rebounds a game this season. On top of that he is more efficient than he has ever been in his career, shooting 50.5% from the field this season as opposed to his career average of 46.8%. His performance this season has led the Grizzlies to a 13-15 record, but his performance last night earned him the Stat Line of the Night.
