The Statline of the Night – 1/13/10 – Aaron Brooks
The Rockets should not have had as much trouble as they had against the Timberwolves at home in Houston on Wednesday night. It took 3 overtimes, but eventually the Rockets outlasted the Wolves 120-114. Rockets fans have Aaron Brooks to thank for saving them from an embarrassing defeat to the league’s second-worst team.
Brooks led all players in minutes played, logging nearly 60 minutes in this game. He filled it up with a career-high 43 points and hit 6 of 9 from three-point range. He also added 5 assists, 3 rebounds and a steal. Brooks had just one turnover in the whole game. That’s a nice feat for a point guard in a regular game. Add 3 overtimes to the mix and it’s pretty amazing.
There were some other big numbers in that game too. Al Jefferson had 26 points and 26 rebounds. Chuck Hayes added 17 reb0unds. But Brooks had the most impressive numbers of the night and led his team to victory. He has The Statline of the Night for 1/13/10.
