UCONN Huskies Meghan Gardler Can Guard Me Any Day (PICS)
I’m not normally a big women’s basketball fan. I don’t know what it is about it — maybe it’s the simple fact they are women playing basketball — but I just can’t get into it. We all know the stereotypes, so I don’t think it’s necessary for me to get into them all.
Despite my general disdain for women’s basketball, I think I’ve just found my new favorite “player” within the sport. Her name is Meghan Gardler, a 21-year old, 6’0″ forward for the University of Connecticut women’s basketball team. She spells her first name with an ‘H’ in it because, naturally, it stands for “HOT.” According to her bio page, she’s a solid defensive player, yes, who possesses three-point range, YES.
She has a true passion for the game and has constantly improved over here four years at UConn. She went from 1.4 rebounds per game to two her sophomore year, and then to 3.3 rebounds per game in her junior season. And…
And how much longer do you want me to carry on with the BS about her basketball game — all I want to do is throw some game at her.
If you’re actually still reading, why? Go look at everything she has to offer.
