The Stat Line of the Night – 3/3/10 – Amare Stoudemire
Seems like there have been Amare Stoudemire trade rumors for years and years. But why the Suns would ever want to trade him is a mystery to many fans. Big men that can score from the outside and the post, put the ball on the floor, rebound and run the floor are few and far between. Stoudemire is one of those players. He can take over games and he did that again last night against the Clippers.
The Clippers were somehow hanging with the Suns and even led by one point at the half. I guess that’s when Amare had seen enough. Amare was throwing down his trademark violent dunks and hitting everything else too. In the 3rd quarter he hit on all six of his field-goal attempts and scored 15 points.
Stoudemire ended up with 30 points on 12-16 from the floor, and added 14 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2 steals. His dominance allowed the Suns to pull away to a 127-101 win in LA. Nobody knows where Stoudemire will be next year, but for now he has The Stat Line of the Night for 3/3/10.
