Nasri’s Unbelievable Individual Effort Seals Victory For Arsenal
Things were not looking good for Arsenal heading into the second leg of the opening knockout round in UEFA Champions League action. After losing the first game in Porto by a score of 2-1, they would need a victory in front of their home fans in order to advance to the quarterfinals. After taking a 2-0 lead, things seemed to be going great for the Gunners, but in the second half, FC Porto began to turn up the heat, pressing for the goal that would equal the two clubs at 3-3 on aggregate.
That is, until french international Samir Nasri decided to take matters into his own hands, or should we say “his own feet.”
Picking up the ball just outside the Porto 18-yard box, Nasri danced around, in between, and through three defenders before slotting a perfectly placed shot past goalkeeper Helton and into the corner of the net, giving Arsenal a 3-0 lead, and essentially booking their ticket into the next round of European club soccer’s most prestigious tournament.
Arsenal would go on to win the game by a score of 5-0. Here is a look at the Nasri goal.
