Search For Crosby’s Missing Equipment 1/3 Complete!
So what is $10,000 divided by three? That is what Bruins forward, and member of Canada’s gold medal men’s hockey team, Patrice Bergeron is trying to figure out after finding one of Sidney Crosby‘s missing gloves.
Following the game winning goal in overtime of the gold medal game, the search has been on to locate Sidney Crosby’s missing gloves and stick, the ones responsible to scoring the goal heard all around Canada. With the man hunt two weeks in, Bergeron figured maybe he could be of some help. After all, he was seated next to Sid throughout the tournament.
Here is how the story was explained by Patrice:
“They lost my bag,” Bergeron said. “I didn’t bring it back with me, so I didn’t open it. The next day, [assistant equipment manager] Matt Falconer went to get it at the airport. He’s the one who separated the Team Canada stuff from the Bruins stuff to bring it back to the rink. That’s how it happened. That’s why it took a while for us to see that. Because he was sitting beside me in the dressing room, one of the trainers from Team Canada put it in my bag. Because he was sitting beside me, now after two weeks, he was still looking for the glove. So I was like, ‘Ah, maybe we should look in my bag and see if it’s in there.’ And it was. Just a funny story, but happy we found Sid’s glove.” [Bruins Blog]
So there you have it. One glove down. One more to go…and a stick as well. As for the cash reward from Reebok, You can expect that to go down to $6666 after Bergeron collects the $3333 that is due to him for his discovery.
