The Stat Line of the Night — 3/16/10 — LeBron James

lebronLeBron James is no stranger to great games, but it didn’t look like the matchup between the Cavs and Pistons was going to be one of them last night.  Until the 4th quarter of course.  Through the first 3 quarters, LeBron was just 5-15 and was struggling to get going.  In the 4th he went off though, scoring on 5 of his 7 shots and torching a Pistons team that had been trading the lead back and forth with the Cavs for most of the game.

Oh, and did I mention he also notched his 28th career triple-double, going for 29 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists?  Well I should have, because he did.  Add a steal and a block and 8-11 from the free throw line, and you have yourself a “Stat Line of the Night”.  His defense and back-to-back jumpers helped spark a 19-7 Cavs run in the 4th quarter which gave them a lead they would never give back.

LeBron has his team atop the Eastern Conference at 53-15, having won 10 of their last 11 and 4 straight.  The addition of Antawn Jamison to the lineup is finally starting to pay dividends and the Cavs look to be the team to beat in the East come playoff time.  The offseason looms large for Cavs fans with the possibility that LeBron will skip town for a bigger market but for now the fans should just enjoy the ride and hope there’s a ring at the end of this tunnel.
