Hawks’ Josh Smith Hits A Buzzer Beating Dunk
There may not be a better way to clinch a playoff spot for your team.
Time is winding down and the opposition has just tied the game with a three-pointer. With no timeouts left, your guard takes the ball up the court, slashes left and puts up a fad-away jumper that rims out. It looks like this game is headed into overtime, but not so fast!
That is when you make your mark on the game, going hard to the basket and cleaning up the rebound by dunking it home just before the final buzzer sounds. They have to go upstairs to make sure it counts, but upon further review, the basket stands and you are playoff bound.
That was how things played out for Josh Smith and the Atlanta Hawks last night when they took on the Orlando Magic at home. It may have only been two of his 15 points and one of his seven rebounds, but they don’t get much bigger than that. And as far as buzzer beaters go, they don’t get much sweeter than that either.
