The Stat Line of the Night – 4/21/10 – Tim Duncan
Tim Duncan is The Big Fundamental. And that’s so boring, right? All those All-Star appearances, championship rings, MVP trophies, All-Defensive teams, Rookie of the Year…what a drag. Can’t you do any cool, flying dunks, man? C’mon!
Duncan was at it again last night as the Spurs battled the Mavericks in Dallas. Down 1-0 in the series, the Spurs wanted to come back and take a game before heading back to San Antonio. Enter the Big Fundamental.
The Spurs built a 12-point halftime lead and never looked back. Duncan had a terrific game, leading the Spurs in scoring and both teams in rebounds. He had 25 points on 11-19 from the floor and also pulled down 17 rebounds, including 5 off the offensive glass. That was key as the Spurs used those boards to outscore the Mavs 23-9 in second-chance points. And with all those touches Duncan had, he did not turn the ball over at all.
So it’s back to San Antonio where I’m sure Duncan will continue his dominance. He has The Stat Line of the Night for 4/21/10.
