If Jesus Were Alive Today, He’d Be A Liquid Mountaineer!

27

Liquid MountaineerNow here is a sport I think Jesus would have excelled at.  It is called Liquid Mountaineering and the objective is simple: run on water for as long as you can.

These guys may not be the son of God or even Chris Angel, but they seem to be pretty damn good at high-stepping their way across this lake.  This looks like something Usain Bolt would be perfect for.  Perhaps they should consider teaming up with the world's fastest man, and this dirt biker (who can ride across water) for a worldwide tour.

And maybe once they are done mastering this sport, they can try parting the sea.  After all, it appears as though the sky is the limit for these guys.

By the way, if you watch the video and pay attention to the water, you can see a line bobbing up and down at the end of the area of ”water” where they run, which would be the submerged boat dock they are running on. The waterline at the edge of the lake is covering grass, which would mean that the water is usually not that high, as regular lawn grass won’t grow under water. When they are doing their run on water feat, they always get to the same distance into the lake, (end of the dock) and fall in. It looks cool, and they’ve obviously put time and thought into this fun little video, but it’s all a farce. Sorry to be that guy.

      Suck my dick

    3. Keith says:

Awesome!! That would be something fun to try.
Cool Joe.. Only if you’re cute.

    4. Buzzkill says:

I hate to point out the obvious, but FAKE!! First of all, there’s the simple physics of surface tension. And second, look at the water that he’s running on. When it’s not cleverly concealed by reflections, you can tell there’s a surface directly below it. The water is either slightly discolored or slightly choppier (indicating shallowness) right up to the point where he breaks through.

If you don’t believe me, maybe this will change your mind

    5. Lou WOods says:

Wow, that is absolutely amazing dude.

    6. oldwolves says:

A little over half way throughthe video you see the water ripple where they have whatever they made under the water. It’s amazing how many people are amazed by this.

    7. Rob Morley says:

This is totally bogus! Take notice that whenever someone does get some distance out in the water they always fall in the same exact spot. Also be aware of the splash that their feet are making while supposedly running on the water. In order to create that kind of splash (and the height of the splash is always the same) there must be some kind of physical contact with the shoes they are wearing with “something” under the water. I’m thinking that there is some kind of sand bar that you cannot readily see at certain angles by the camera, and there’s a big reflection on the water to keep the viewer from seeing the sand bar. And through the editing of the video they are making the viewer believe that sometimes it doesn’t work and sometimes they make it some 30 feet out into the water. I must admit that it was an interesting piece of work, but the laws of physics make this feat impossible. Next scammer, please….

I think I will now be able to end my existence. The shoe god has spoken.

    9. planet_rob says:

Either that, or I’ll just listen to Dark Magus by Miles Davis.

    10. joe cool says:

      i feel like buying a pair of Hi-Tecs now……….

    11. lamesauce says:

If you think this is real you are a fucking idiot.

    12. Dave says:

This is an ADVERTISING for Hi-Tec. It’s a fake video.

    13. Brian says:

Wonder what their record is (or even what kind of record they keep)? Distance or number of steps?

    14. yeah ok says:

i don’t believe it. and now there’s gonna be all kinds of kids runnin full ass speed into lakes.
If you look at the path and the distance from shore, they all make it to the same spot and then fall. there must be some kind of submerged object or dock.

The physics of it just don’t work. Regardless of how fast you are going, there won’t be enough water resistance to stop you from sinking. For barefoot waterskiing, the force to keep you up usually comes at around 30-35 mph. There’s no way that they area moving that fast, and they would sink at a constant speed, not just run and then suddenly fall.

I’d love to be disproved, but I’m calling bullshit. Our skin is hydrophobic with more surface area then those shoes anyway, so barefeet should work better.

Can they run longer in salt water?

    15. fake says:

This has been thoroughly debunked. They are running on a support just below the surface of the water. They all fall at exactly the same point. It is viral advertising for waterproof shoes. Research is your friend.

    16. fordsucks says:

      That’s what she said.

    17. Revin says:

Yep, close-up of the Hi-Tec logo on the shoe, and one of the guys being interviewed is even wearing a Hi-Tec cap

    18. Snaj says:

That doesn’t make it an ad – niche sport athletes do this sort of thing with their sponsors all the time. Watch a surfing or rock climbing, or skydiving video and if you didn’t know better, you’d think the whole thing was put on by the athletes sponsors if it wasn’t for the fact that various brands are all mixed in.

    19. Tpain says:

I don’t think it is quite that simple…I think there is a lot of fluid dynamics not being taken into account in this explanation. Don’t get me wrong though this video is total bull.

    20. Buzzkill says:

If you still think it’s real, take a look at 0:48. The underwater surface he’s running on actually buckles. And if that’s not enough to make you see how fake this is, then you should be collecting disability because you are so incredibly, untreatably retarded.

    21. Champs says:

They should try “power” liquid mountaineering – barefoot waterski (perhaps in shoes) as fast as you dare and then let go and see how long you can run for. Perhaps this might work for ‘real’

    22. cgnmc says:

The thing that makis it look real is how the runners start to slow down before they fall into the water.

    23. Cindy says:

I jumped on Wikipedia and read the article, but it was a lot like walking through pudding: slow going and afterward I felt kinda dirty.

    24. Johnny All says:

Dude i swear ITS NOT FAKKEEE I SAWW THAT SHIT TRIED ITT IT WORKEEDD BELIEVEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    25. kanyee says:

NO DUDEE JOHHNNYYY’S TRUEEE DUDEEE I TRIEDDD THAT SHITTTT!!!!!!!!! IIT’S FKUCKING CRAZYYY SON!!!! BUYY MY NEWWW ALBUMM 808SSS HERTBRK!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAAAHHH
