Who does this guy think he is, Keith Eloi? There was no way that he was making it over that hurdle without a running start. I think that became evident after the first couple of times he hesitated to give it a shot. And when he finally took his leap of faith, not only did he fail, but he did so in a rather dramatic fashion.
I guess this is just another way to suffer a ruptured testicle.
