The Stat Line of the Night – 6/24/10 – Dustin Pedroia
The Boston Red Sox and Colorado Rockies met up in Denver for a rematch of the 2007 World Series. Dustin Pedroia remembered how much he loved the thin air after having the game of his life.
The 2008 AL MVP had a staggering stat line and led the Red Sox to a 13-11 extra-inning win, when his 10th inning homer gave the Sox the lead. For the night Pedoria went 5-5 and hit three home runs, a double, a walk, 4 runs scored and 5 RBI. The homers were Pedroia’s 10th, 11th and 12th bombs of the season and his killer night raised his slugging percentage to over .500. Pedroia also raised his average to .293, up from .280 the night before.
The win allowed the Red Sox to avoid the series sweep in Denver, and brought them to 44-30 on the season, just 2 games behind the Yankees and tied for second with the Rays in the AL East. The Sox have been hot of late thanks to Pedroia. He’s hitting .500 with five doubles, one triple and four homers in his last 13 games, and he has The Stat Line of the Night for 6/24/10.
