Longoria And Upton Have A Heated Exchange In Rays’ Dugout
How would you feel if a guy with a stupid looking faux hawk told you how to do your job? If your answer is “pissed off”, then surely you can sympathize with Tampa Bay’s BJ Upton following his heated dugout confrontation with teammate Evan Longoria.
The lack of effort put forth by Upton on a Rusty Ryal hit into the gap in the top of the 5th would help the Diamondbacks’ first baseman turn a double into an easy triple. The extra base earned by Ryal would turn out to be meaningless as the next batter, Gerardo Parra, would bring him home with a two-run shot, but that didn’t stop Longoria from giving Upton a piece of his mind.
Upton would have a disastrous game, getting picked-off at first base in the bottom of the 5th, and striking out to end the game with the tying run on base. Stupid haircut and all, perhaps Longoria was on to something.
