The Stat Line of the Night – 7/7/10 – Buster Posey
The Giants recently traded Bengie Molina to free up more playing time for super prospect Buster Posey. So far the move looks good, and Posey is already paying some big dividends.
The Giants were in Milwaukee to battle the Brewers and Posey was playing 1st base to give his left knee a break. He was hit by a pitch there the other night. He had a career night. Posey went off in the game going 4 for 4 with two homers, including his first career grand slam. He drove in 6 runs on the evening and scored 3 times. Tim Lincecum was able to coast with the big lead provided by the offense and the G-Men won 15-2.
Posey has been red-hot of late, going 13 for his last 25. He also became the first Giants hitter to get four hits, two HRs, and six RBIs in a road game since Barry Bonds did it August of 2004. He also raised his average to .331. Buster Posey has The Stat Line of the Night for 7/7/10.
