Picture Of The Day: Paul The Octopus’ Secret Unveiled
It was a marvelous World Cup run that ended in triumph. And no, we are not talking about the Spaniards, who captured their first ever World Cup title with a 1-0 extra time win over the Netherlands on Sunday. Instead, we are referring to Paul the Octopus, who correctly predicted all eight of the games he was asked to pick a winner for.
Most notable was his prediction that Spain would beat Germany in their semi-final match (Paul is of German decent), and he was also correct in picking Spain to win the final against Holland.
But wait! There may be more to this whole oracle thing than initially believed. Could it be that Paul simply favors teams with the color yellow in their flag? So does this mean that countries whose flags possess a significant amount of yellow are more likely to win the World Cup? Suddenly this conspiracy has become a lot more confusing.
