Nyjer Morgan Sparks Massive Brawl Between Nats And Marlins (Video)
Last night must have been fight night in the U.S.A.
First there was the battle between Oregon’s Mercedes Walters and Oklahoma States Kyndall Treadwell in NCAA soccer action. Then there was the reported riff between the 49ers Michael Crabtree and Vernon Davis. And now this, which took place during a game between the Washington Nationals and the Florida Marlins.
Take a look, and be sure to keep an eye out for the devastating clothes-line thrown by Marlins first baseman Gaby Sanchez at the 5 second mark. It’s a doozy!
Here is a recap of how the entire incident developed, starting from Tuesday night when Nyjer Morgan ran over Marlins’ catcher Brett Hayes, who sustained a separated shoulder.
Morgan, along with Marlins’ pitchers Chris Volstad and Jose Veras, and manager Edwin Rodriguez were all ejected from the game following this fiasco.
So now the question I am left to ask is this: Is fighting good for baseball? Most people would argue that it isn’t, but if it can make a game between the Marlins and the Nats even remotely interesting, how bad can it be?
